PETRES is named after the greek word ΠΕΤΡΕΣ meaning stone, with which the villas and surrounding walls have been built.  The importance of using local materials & respecting the valley’s natural terrain is integral to Petres which is evident in how the property blends into its surroundings - a defining style of the projects architects.

Petres has been created through a family collaboration, resulting in three homes for three sisters. This can be seen in the antique heirlooms sprinkled between the rooms, in the high quality of materials chosen throughout & most importantly in the layout of the villas.

Each villa is on different heights of the property allowing privacy & separation if desired,  but also having the freedom to have shared full movement between each home - ‘a mini village’ as it was dreamt up to be for a big family.

LOCAL MATERIALS

Particular care has been given to the material selection across each of the villas. From uncovered old pieces of marble lining the floors of Avra, the grand stone boulder of Petra, to the old millstone decorating the gardens of Riza. All these details & curated items have been chosen with respect to their history, and re using them in a modern way.

The surrounding greenery of the Petres valley comes from the stream flowing nearby, but also the rain water collection systems being used for irrigation purposes. Similarly the villas have solar water heating to make good use of the endless sunny days. Respecting nature and what is has to offer us, along with adopting energy saving practices is very important to us.
